This brutal bloody slaughter (See Pics/Video Below) took place in the Faroe Islands. To initiate into adulthood it is mandatory to kill a dolphin or a whale.

The Faroe Islands, sometimes Faeroe Islands, Faroe(s), or Faeroes are an island group situated between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Scotland and Iceland. But it does have some independence from Denmark with it's own Government.

This atrocious slaughter has been practised since at least the 10th century. Nearly 1,000 are killed annually in the “grindadráp” — whale hunt — typically occurring during summer months.
